Saint Paul 2008

While we’ve been busy enjoying Minnesota’s unseasonable warm March weather, others have been busy… doing other stuff.

The 2008 Pheasant Fest at RiverCentre (18-20 January) will overlap the 2008 Figure Skating Championships (20-27 January) by one day, which should be interesting, to say the least.

Area residents come up with some pretty dumb ideas for redevelopment of the Ford factory complex in St. Paul; we’re guessing the people suggesting a park “complete with a lake” aren’t aware of the maze of tunnels beneath the property…

It looks like St. Paul wants even more money for security at the RNC convention. For $50 million, I think we could just pay all the protesters to go somewhere else for the week; rent Somerset, Wisconsin and throw the mother of all keggers, perhaps. Or, you know, create the police presence to end all police presences…
